Frequently Asked Questions

General Frequently Asked Questions

I have never been to camp before. Will I be the only new camper there?

No. Each season we greet many new guests. About 30 percent of our campers are new each year. We’re happy to say that camp is one of those places where
people connect with each other, with new people, with their inner spirit, and with God. Many campers return year after year simply to reconnect.
We look forward to welcoming you and hope that you, too, find this to be a place of community, rest, and a place to connect.

How do I find my way to camp?

We suggest that you use maps.google.com and use our address
450 N Miller St.
Sebewaing, MI 48759
to find directions to Bay Shore Camp.

I have special food and/or accommodation needs. Can you help and how do I communicate my needs?

We do work with individuals on special dietary needs. If you have a need that you wish to communicate to us, please contact us at the camp office at +1-989-883-2501. Without letting us know prior to 2 weeks before your time with us, it is very hard for us to work around dietary needs.

Do you have things for families to do?

Yes, We offer events for all ages!

Youth Camp Specific Frequently Asked Questions

Can my senior high camper drive him/herself to camp?

This is a decision best made by the parents and the camper.  Parents need to consider the experience and driving abilities of their child before any decision is made. If you choose to allow your child to drive to camp they will not be permitted to drive the vehicle any time during the week while they are at camp.  Basically the car will be used only for the purpose you allowed when you told your child they could drive to camp to get to camp and then to get home from camp. We make every effort to collect car keys from campers who drive. Your help in alerting us that your child is driving will be appreciated.

Can I call my child at camp? Can my child have a cell phone or pager at camp?

No. Please. At this time we do not allow our campers use of their cell phones and other communication devices while at camp. These devices distract from the ministry that happens while they are here.

What if my child requires medication?

All medication are required to be turned in to the Nurse upon arrival at camp and will be returned at check-out. Campers are not allowed to keep medication on them.

Are there discounts?

Yes, if you are a first time camper to Bay Shore Camp you will receive $25 off (Primary & Teddy Bear Camps).

All other camps will receive $50 off. If you invite a friend that has never been to
Bay Shore Camp you get $25 or $50 off for inviting a friend. If you have siblings who attend Bay Shore Camp we have first camper pay full price. Second camper would get additional $40 off and 3rd camper and more would receive $60 off.

When is Check-in?

Each camp starts at 2 PM on the given start date. The Family Center is the building that we use for checking in campers.

How can my camper request a bunk buddy after they sent in their form?

Call the office and they will add it to the form for you. +1 989 883 2501.
