Once upon a time, this was Bay Shore Camp's office
building. It was outgrown long ago, but there was no where for the
staff to relocate.
A miracle was needed, and it came! Former students of a much-loved
area teacher made Bay Shore an offer they couldn't refuse. They
would build a Welcome Center and staff office in memory of Miss
Ethel Scheurer.
The Welcome Center was finished in 6 months
leaving the old office building vacant, but not for long! It was
renovated into three much-needed adult and family housing units.
It was named "Lighthouse Lodge," pointing to the mission
of Bay Shore Camp to be a "light to the world."
