Roberta's Walk
The boardwalk begins on the "back road" or west side of camp. Five feet wide, 210 feet long and completely barrier-free, the boardwalk ends at a large platform mid-point in the marsh. A spectacular view of Saginaw Bay and (if you turn around) Bay Shore Camp, too!

Hard to believe, but some folks can come to Bay Shore Camp and not even realize they are on the shore of Saginaw Bay. A Boardwalk was proposed a few years ago, but because the camp sits on the edge of DEQ protected marshland, most folks thought it just couldn't be done.

But we have a great God on and He did a wonderful job of guiding, directing, untangling paperwork and preparing hearts and minds to agree on a solution that would benefit the camp without endangering the natural beauty of the environment.

A DEQ permit was granted in the last weeks of 2001. Construction began in late January 2002 and finished in mid-March 2002.

God is Awesome!

Roberta's Walk is Also a Great Place to View the Stars at Night. The photo on the right is a one-hour time lapsed view of the night sky over Bay Shore Camp.
